Remembering Emily
8/16/1964 - 9/3/2021
Daughter to Bob and Joan, sister to Stewart and RB, wife to Ron, mother to Morgan, friend to all.
Remembering Emily: About
Born in Baltimore, Maryland, Emily came to California at one year old with her parents, Bob and Joan, and her brothers Stewart and RB. The family settled in Greenbrae and Kentfield, where Emily went on to graduate from Redwood High School. From there, she graduated from Pepperdine University, pursued a career in the San Francisco financial district, and received her master's degree from Mills College.

Shortly thereafter, she met the love of her life, Ron Farrell, at a Lake Tahoe gathering. Together, they made their home in Truckee. When their daughter, Morgan, reached high school age they established another residence in Rocklin.

Family, friends, flowers, and tennis were Emily's passions. Her godmother, Helen Ward of Owings Mills, MD, inspired her love of flowers; which blossomed into her business, Tahoe Blooms. She shared her love of flowers with friends and family and went on to take several design classes at New York's Botanical Gardens. Emily loved running and playing tennis. She ran for the Redwood High XC Team and finished several marathons. Emily stoked her competitive fire through tennis, where she also made many lifelong friends. She spent summers on her boat on Lake Tahoe and the Delta and winters skiing the slopes of Squaw Valley.
